• Operate radio equipment to communicate effectively and following strict and specific procedures, with the directives from supervisor, all affected vessels and relevant parties in cases of emergency.
• Maintain a radio watch and monitor traffic on all communication systems installed in the Radio Room.
• Maintain Radio Room log books required by current regulations, company and client.
• Observe statutory regulations.
• Isolation of radio equipment during periods of radio silence.
• Administration duties necessary for helicopter operations
• Maintain the unit POB documentation and computer records.
• Familiar with emergency communications and procedures.
• Maintain a log of hours worked by personnel on the unit.
• General clerical and filing work.: maintains confidentiality of communication and records of telefaxes and telexes.
• Assist with helicopter manifests.
• Forward mail to head office and distribute mail received on unit.
• Comply with Permit to Work System.
• Ensure a safe and comprehensive handover is given at shift or crew change with all pertinent operational and maintenance information to relevant personnel
• Adhere to Company Safety Standards and promote safety culture among the ranks through out the Company.
• Any other ad-hoc projects and duties as required by the management
