We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Planning and Control (PPC) Assistant to assist in the day-to-day operations of the production department. The PPC Assistant will be responsible for maintaining accurate production records, updating schedules, and ensuring proper documentation. The role requires excellent communication skills, a strong focus on detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and maintaining production schedules based on demand forecasts and production capacity.
- Maintain and update production records, including work orders, material requisitions, and inventory levels.
- Enter production data into the system and generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure that all required materials are available for scheduled jobs.
- Monitor production progress and update schedules to reflect any changes or delays.
- Track inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods, and report shortages to the appropriate personnel.
- Liaise with procurement, warehouse, and shipping departments to ensure smooth workflow and material flow.
- File and organize production-related documents and ensure they are accessible for team members and audits.
- Assist in generating purchase orders for materials and supplies required for production.
- Help resolve any discrepancies or issues related to production orders, inventory levels, or materials.
- Support the production planning team in implementing process improvements and optimizing production efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or diploma in manufacturing, logistics, or related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in an administrative or clerical role.
- Proficient in MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel, including Pivot Tables, data visualization through graphs, VLOOKUP and data formatting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management, production processes, and supply chain principles.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with data entry and maintaining accurate records.
Work Environment:
- Office-based within a manufacturing facility, with regular interaction with production and warehouse teams.
