Job Purpose

The Stock keeper’s primary functions are to organise the stock in the store stock room, to monitor the stock levels, and to support the activities of the selling staff

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Store Room Management

  • Receive and verify all deliveries of merchandise and non-commercial goods to the shop, ensuring that it is in good condition and corresponds the packing list
  • Verify of correct uploading /downloading in START system
  • Replenish the stock in the stock room and on the selling floor (the latter in conjunction with the sales staff) and organize the merchandise in the stock room in accordance with DG Company procedures
  • Keep the stock room in order and clean
  • Keep all goods in their corresponding packaging and covered by plastic covers
  • Inform the Retail Operations on a regular basis about space available for new deliveries
  • Organize and manage return of merchandise at the end of the season
  • Verify damaged merchandise
  • Verify returned merchandise in conjunction with the Retail Operations
  • Organise non-commercial goods in the stock room and make sure that security tags are attached to the merchandise

Stock Administration

The Stock keeper must consequently be highly efficient, very well organized and he/she must regularly verify the accuracy of inventory levels to ensure that all stock is accounted for and none is lost or stolen.

The objective is to create an environment where the store and office employee can easily and readily verify updated and accurate real-time inventory information.

The Stock Keeper consequently must:

  • Carry out physical stock checks on a daily basis
  • Conduct full physical stock takes on a weekly basis, recording the results in accordance with Company procedures (the procedures used for physical stock counts must be the same as those used for during official store-wide inventory checks)
  • Compare physical inventory counts against START data, identifying and reconciling eventual discrepancies in the stock levels
  • Participate store inventories

Support to the Personnel

The Stock Keeper must also provide support to the sales staff, ensuring efficient and fast replenishment of merchandise on the selling floor and shortening the waiting time of the customer.
