Assistant IT Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Network

• Familiar with the configuration and management of network products (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.) of major mainstream manufacturers such as Cisco, Huawei, and H3C, and be able to install, debug, and troubleshoot equipment independently.
• Familiar with network protocols, such as: TCP/IP, MPLS VPN, VLAN and other technical principles.
• Familiar with optical Fiber communication, with experience in large-scale data center/WAN planning and design, and experience in optical cable engineering design and construction.
• Good at communication, make the project design meet the requirements of the school, and prepare summary reports, forms, etc. at each stage.
• Coordinate the planning and arrangement of the project site, manage the daily work of the construction team, train the construction personnel in wiring technology, and supervise the efficiency and quality of network wiring construction.

Systems

• Participate in system design, write corresponding design reports and technical documents, and assist in completing project testing and project delivery.
• Responsible for software architecture design and coding implementation, background data processing, page reconstruction and interaction logic, interface design optimization, etc.
• Able to co-manage the complete project lifecycle for ERP systems or any IT related projects.
• Ensure smooth operation and uptime of the University’s Student Information System, Finance System, etc.
• Maintain sustainable systems support processes, including tracking of incident management and change management.
• Support change/enhancement requests and to ensure that changes are released into the production environment without an impact to service.
• Develop and deploy portals using SharePoint.
• Maintain and perform housekeeping of the user access and permission matrix to the University’s systems and applications.
• Work closely with the service delivery team to uphold the service standard of the IT Department.
• Work closely with the IT infrastructure and cybersecurity team to ensure the smooth operation of the applications and compliance with the cybersecurity measures.
• Work closely with the respective systems’ vendors on issues resolution, bug fixes and to deploy enhancements to the systems to improve work efficiency and service delivery.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the IT Manager.

Qualification

• Degree/Diploma in Information Systems/Information Technology.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in providing application support and carrying out improvements in systems/ SharePoint and development experience in the field of network integrated wiring, network construction implementation and maintenance.
• Familiar with design patterns, master object-oriented programming, and master the use of MySQL and other databases.
• Fluent in Mandarin (written and spoken) is an advantage to be able to maintain systems from China.
• Experience and keen interest in programming is preferred.
• Able to manage time and resources efficiently.
• Able to work with different teams and to prioritize tasks.
