The Job:

  • Manage Industrial Relations: Handle disciplinary cases, employee grievances, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and attendance management. Advise management on best practices in alignment with company policies, procedures, and relevant laws.
  • Conduct Investigations: Perform preliminary investigations, gather witness statements, prepare investigation reports, and recommend actions. Prepare reports on disciplinary and grievance matters.
  • Draft Disciplinary Letters: Create various disciplinary documents, including Reminder Letters, Warning Letters, Performance Improvement Plan Letters, Charge Sheets, Suspension Letters, Show Cause Letters, Notices of Inquiry, and Termination Letters.
  • Organize Domestic Inquiries: Oversee inquiry proceedings and act as the Prosecuting Officer to represent the company.
  • Manage Union Relations: Prepare for the renewal of Collective Agreements, including benchmark studies and the collective bargaining process.
  • Initiate Industrial Relations Activities: Develop proactive initiatives such as email awareness campaigns, infographics, slide presentations, and briefings on industrial relations matters.
  • Liaise with Relevant Bodies: Interact with bodies such as the Industrial Relations Department, Labour Department, Industrial Court, and MEF.
  • Document Management: Ensure all case-related documents are accurately documented and filed for reference and hearings.

The Incumbent:

  • Degree in a relevant field, preferably Human Resources or Law, with 2-3 years of solid Industrial Relations experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Self-starter, proactive, a good team player, and results-oriented.
  • Skilled in MS Office applications: PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Well-versed in the Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act 1967, and current HR practices and legislation in Malaysia.
