Job Description:

As a Legal Executive, you are responsible to generate new sales, deliver advice and maintaining relationships with new and/or existing clients. An in-depth understanding of IP protection and framework is expected from you in Malaysia and other jurisdictions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To advise clients on various IP matters relevant to their nature of business, e.g., trademarks, patent, industrial design, copyright etc.
  • To advise on legal matters (office actions, oppositions, objections, hearings etc.) pertaining to the registration of Intellectual Property.
  • To be consistent in follow-ups with clients and have a strong sense of urgency in responding to clients’ enquiries.
  • To be responsible in maintaining business relationships with existing and/or new clients.
  • To ensure all assignments/tasks are processed and handled in a timely and efficient manner.
  • To be an efficient coordinator of all cases being assigned to, and to monitor file statuses to meet deadlines and ensure smooth communication of statuses with clients.
  • To assist in business development including organizing/attending seminars and producing articles.
  • To assist in business planning, strategize sales and marketing plan when required.
  • Personal and Department KPI will be given whereby you are expected to achieve both.
  • To report to the Head of Department & Management team.
  • To assist the CEO and other Head of Departments in client-handling matters.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role preferred.
  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or other equivalent certification in Law/ Finance/ Accounting/ Banking/ Business Studies/ Administration/ Management or Marketing. All qualifications will be considered.
  • At least 1 year of working experience in sales and marketing.
  • Possess own transportation and willing to travel, outstation traveling will be required on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Excellent writing, phone handling, interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Active listening skills and ability to tailor approach based on client needs.
  • Ability to work through customer conflict and provide resolution using guidelines and judgement (no scripting).
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable based on customers’ and business needs.
  • Well organized and strong attentiveness to detail.
  • Ability to establish priorities, manage work independently, and meet deadline.
  • Possess good computer skills in MS Office, especially Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English, both spoken and written is required.
  • We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
