Software Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance our existing software library
• Provide support during the commissioning of machines at both customer sites and within SCHMID
• Offer remote support to our customers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Conduct functional tests and parameterizations of subcomponents and complete systems
• Support machine final acceptance processes in collaboration with customers
• Diagnose and resolve malfunctions by systematically analyzing and eliminating root causes
• Work independently and take initiative to address and solve problems
• Travel to customer sites, either independently or as part of a Field Service team
• Provide remote customer support via email, phone, and TeamViewer

Requirements:

• Proficiency in programming languages AWL and SCL
• Experience with Siemens and VIPA hardware
• Strong knowledge of SimaticManager and TIA
• Basic knowledge of programming and commissioning robotic systems (Yaskawa)
• Practical experience in special machine construction and automation technology
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, blueprints, and diagrams
• Ability to perform well under pressure and maintain a positive, cooperative attitude while working with customers and colleagues
• A continuous improvement mindset, with a preference for challenging the status quo Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
• Associate degree in a relevant field is required
