Our client, a global engineering company known for manufacturing high-quality power transmission products and mechanical handling solutions is currently looking for a new Country Sales Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing and directing the country sales operations for all products, including outsourced items. It acts as a liaison between branch sales teams and factories within the supply chain.
Job Description
This position reports to the Managing Director of Southeast Asia.
Key ResponsibilitiesMajor Objectives
- Drive sales growth and profitability for mechanical engineering products in Malaysia.
- Lead and supervise the branch sales engineer teams.
- Formulate and execute sales and distribution strategies.
- Analyze and report on market opportunities, competitor activity, threats, and sales performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
- Conduct sales presentations and provide technical and service support.
- Oversee sales activities across all Malaysian branches.
- Cultivate relationships with key customers and assist in securing large deals.
- Promote the company's brands according to the sales and marketing strategy.
- Ensure that all quotes are logged in the CRM and followed up professionally.
- Prepare promotional materials and communicate the unique value of the company's products to clients.
- Cross-sell other company products to existing customers.
- Manage pricing strategies to maximize market share and profitability, with a focus on large projects.
- Maintain accurate and updated price lists.
- Resolve issues between sales and supply chain teams, including technical requirements, pricing, and lead times.
- Handle customer complaints promptly to maintain strong client relationships.
- Recommend optimal stock levels and contribute to the company's annual sales and financial plans.
- Continuously develop technical, commercial, and leadership skills.
- Proven experience in consultancy and business development within strategic industries.
- Demonstrated success in generating new business, with an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong ability to develop markets by utilizing an existing network.
- In-depth experience working in Malaysia, with a solid understanding of the local business culture and environment.
- Proficiency in additional Asian languages is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Confident in consulting, including leading workshops and co-creation initiatives, with a focus on entrepreneurship.
- Knowledgeable in deploying and analyzing qualitative and quantitative research, using data-driven evidence to support project recommendations.
- Skilled in effective team leadership and mentorship.
