Working Hours: 7:30 am – 4:30 pm (Monday to Friday)

Early years teachers instruct students, primarily young children, in basic subjects and creative play with the aim of developing their social and intellectual skills in an informal way in preparation for future formal learning. They create lesson plans, possibly in accordance with a fixed curriculum, for an entire class or smaller groups and test the students on the content. These lesson plans, based on basic subjects, can include the instruction of number, letter, and colour recognition, days of the week, categorisation of animals and transport vehicles etc. Early years teachers also supervise students outside the classroom on school grounds and enforce rules of behaviour there as well.

Job Scopes:

  • Deliver engaging language instruction to children aged 2-5 years old, focusing on both spoken and written language skills.
  • Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and projects that foster language acquisition and cultural understanding
  • Incorporate play-based and hands-on learning activities that encourage exploration and creativity.
  • Work with the class teacher to assist with day-to-day routines, including preparing resources and materials for lessons.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents and administrators to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment, as well as actively participate in school events.

Job Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English.
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or qualification in Early Childhood Education is highly desirable (PERMATA Certification)
  • At least 2 years of experience working with young children in an educational setting, ideally in a bilingual immersion program.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities shall be as follows:

  • Create a welcoming, inclusive and engaging classroom environment that supports young children’s development.
  • Assess and monitor children’s progress in language acquisition and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to integrate language learning across the curriculum.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers about children’s progress and any concerns.
