School Counsellor

Job Brief:

We are looking for a professional School Counsellor (mandarin speaking) to help students prepare for academic achievement, ensure career readiness and develop personal or social competencies through a comprehensive, preventive and developmental counseling program. The goal is to ensure that students will become productive and well-adjusted adults.

Responsibilities:

• To establish the school counseling program and develop activities and resources to implement and evaluate the program
• To provide individual and group counseling services to meet the developmental, preventive and remedial needs of students.
• Source out appropriate professionals to came into school and prepare talks.
• To assists parents and teachers in understanding and responding to developmental level of students.
• To provide direct support and counseling service to students
• To work with a diverse range of issues.
• To liaise with the pastoral care team.
• To keep case records on the counseling in a secure place.
• To provide information on the counseling service, the role of the counselor and the boundaries of confidentiality to students.
• To participate in planning, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive developmental guidance program through workshops/seminars/talks to serve all students and to address the special needs of students.
• Engage in conducting assembly (once per term).
• Visit classes per week (supportive role)

Requirements:

• Minimum a Degree in Counseling and Psychology, with a valid counselor license;
• We require a Mandarin Speaking candidates to cater our foreign student needs
• Proven working experience in school counseling
• Integrity and professionalism
• Ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse student pool
• Working knowledge of various counseling models, practices and resources
• Engaging interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills
• Ability to collect and analyze data
• Computer literacy
• Sound judgement and emotional intelligence
