Job Description

Visual Communication Designer/Art Director - Based in Malaysia

You are at the heart of our company’s strategic brand and image building. As a designer, you have a passion for crafting design ideas that touch people. Collaborate with a world-class team in building impressive and communicative designs that will be at the forefront of Traveloka’s prominence for Malaysia and beyond!

Main areas:

  • Explore and create bold and problem-solving designs across various marketing channels.

  • Develop communicating design and provide design for promotion materials in different formats.

Responsibilities & creative development:

  • Present the creative concept/ideas to the stakeholders and communicate design rationales with stakeholders to get their buy-in

  • Participate in creative brief sessions with copywriters/creative leads, to identify the clients/stakeholders needs

  • Report to Creative Lead and lead brainstorming with the creative team to come up with new ideas and concept for campaigns

  • Collaborate with Brand Identity Team to create, develop, and deploy the brand guidelines in our every work

  • Collaborate with Production Design Team, to do creative production supervision, video shooting and photoshoot included

  • Collaborate and nurture other designers from other market, in terms of craftsmanship and ideation

  • Actively collaborate and manage stakeholders from Marketing departments and other departments like Production Design and Channel Team.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of design experience, preferably in marketing & communication campaign, and production experience which includes photo shoot & video production as well

  • Working experience in in-house creative team and advertising agency for Malaysian market

  • Design portfolio that embodies a modern, clean and outstanding style of creative, ranging around design and creative ideation for campaigns in 360 channels (In-app, OOH, Digital display/ads, organic digital content, long and short format TVC or Digital video, etc.)

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign and/or Adobe Creative Suite, with familiarity in Mac OS environment

  • Impeccable skills in visual communication and understanding user behavior, preferably with skills of icon design and/or illustration

  • Ability to quickly adapt to company’s style & visual guideline

  • Familiarity with AI-based and Automation-based creative tools, eg. MidJourney, Runway, Cape, Smartly, etc.

  • Advance knowledge and capability in In-app design (Newsletter, Landing Page, Push Notification) and basic knowledge in Digital Ads (Display, Paid Performance Marketing)

  • Up to date on market trends and industry insights in Malaysian market

  • Able to multitask with eye for details, resourceful and independent under constraints of time

  • Have a strong empathy in understanding online consumer behavior

  • Critical thinking and ability to persuasively influence through storytelling

  • A critical eye with attention to detail, especially visual details

  • Have the ability to convey ideas and concepts to support creative pitches

  • Self-driven in managing and accomplishing projects under tight deadlines and able to work with minimum supervision
