Responsibilities:
- Preparation of tax compliance work including tax computations.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
- Conduct research on tax matters to stay informed about regulatory changes and developments.
- Assist to propose and implement various tax strategies and planning to ensure optimal tax savings, through identifying tax inefficiency/opportunity, performing tax analysis and providing recommendations.
- Identify and assess potential tax risks, proposing effective risk management solutions.
- Contribute to tax projects, including research and analysis of complex tax issues.
- Liaise with tax authorities and customs on audits, investigations, applications, and appeals related to tax matters.
- Assist in the formulation of tax policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant tax legislation.
- Manage tax audits and inquiries from the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) and Royal Malaysia Customs Department and other relevant authorities.
- Prepare responses to tax audit queries and disputes and negotiate settlements where applicable.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business processes.
- Manage relationships with tax authorities and stay informed about relevant developments.
- Carry out any other work as & when assigned by Superior(s).
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting/Finance and/or partial Professional qualification (MIT, MIA, MICPA, ACCA, ICAEW, CPA, CFA, or CTP or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years of tax experience in taxation industry.
- Good knowledge in tax legislation.
- Must have hands on experience in preparation of tax computations.
- Good command in English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Independent, self-motivated, organized, and results oriented individual capable of handling multiple tasks;
- Able to work under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and general computer literacy is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skill
- Takes initiative and is a self-starter
- Ability in working through challenging environment and sometime ambiguity in addressing complex issues
- Reasonable understanding of Income Tax Act 1967
- Strong understanding of international tax regulations and guidelines.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication and client relationship management skills.
- Preferably can start immediately.
