Associate DevOps Engineer (Cloud)

Role Summary Kinesso is currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Associate DevOps Engineer (Cloud). This role will work under the direction of the Director, DevOps to cross and merge the barriers that exist between software development, testing, and operations teams. This role requires an individual who has a passion to mentor and assist other engineers throughout the company and seeks to continually improve processes company-wide. Key Responsibilities • Setting up, managing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure. • Implementing security best practices, such as patching vulnerabilities, managing access control, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. • Setting up reliable backup processes and disaster recovery plans to safeguard against data loss. • Handling system outages or bugs by monitoring alerts, quickly diagnosing root causes, and implementing fixes. • Setting up monitoring tools and dashboards to track system performance, identify bottlenecks, and ensure system uptime. • Automating repetitive tasks, such as infrastructure provisioning, testing, and deployment processes. Requirements • Expertise in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for deploying and scaling applications. • Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, or CloudFormation to automate infrastructure management. • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows-based systems and their administration. • Proficiency in monitoring and alerting tools like DataDog for tracking performance and troubleshooting. • Familiarity with Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for orchestration. • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, such as secure coding practices, vulnerability scanning, and compliance with standards like ISO, SOC, or GDPR. • Experience designing disaster recovery plans and managing backup solutions to ensure business continuity. • Expert in implementing and administration of Hashicorp Vault. • Knowledge of network protocols, DNS, load balancers, and VPNs for configuring and troubleshooting network-related issues. • Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools i.e Spinnaker, Jenkins.
