Data Center Operator

Job title: Data Centre Operator Job purpose: Manage day to day computer operation and manage end of day (EOD) batch job. Description: • Perform day-to-day computer operation such as execution of end of day (EOD)batch job, system backup and monitoring of application online services in CA Autosys and IBM AS/400 system in a 24x7 environment. • Plan, coordinate and support Operations related activities. • Creation of incident details using ticketing system provided for EOD batch issue. • Perform incident escalation. • Ensure incidents are responded and attended to. • Assist in system monitoring via Element Management System (EMS) server monitoring. • Perform tape management task such as EOD backup restoration for AS400, unload / load backup tape for dispatch offsite from/to Offsite. • Provide operational support in Privilege ID Management. • Maintain proper operation documentation and records such as daily check list and SOP. • Generate and provide periodic report to management review and meetings. • Provide support for Audit. • Coordinate and assisting of application team during DR or BCP exercise. • Maintain, review and update all policies, SOPs. • Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks. • Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company. • Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices. Our requirement: • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT or Diploma with Professional Certifications. • At least 5 years’ relevant experience successfully managing data centre service delivery or Computer operations in IBM AS/400 or IT systems implementation and integration. • Experience working with multiple infrastructure teams (business, IT application and infrastructure teams). • Excellent knowledge of various devices, brands and toolsets related to data centre management • and patching. • Independent, self-motivated, resourceful and have excellent interpersonal skills. • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork. • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
