Community and Sales Manager - The Kedai & The Nesting Place

The Community and Sales Manager will play a vital role in curating The Kedai, a vibrant marketplace, and driving brand awareness and sales for The Nesting Place, a confinement centre. This position requires a mix of retail experience, event curation, sales management, and marketing expertise. The role focuses on fostering strong tenant and client relationships, driving foot traffic, and ensuring both venues thrive as community destinations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tenant Curation and Management (The Kedai)

  • Identify and recruit tenants who align with The Kedai’s vision of showcasing artisanal goods, crafts, and food.
  • Negotiate lease agreements, ensuring terms support long-term tenant satisfaction.
  • Conduct market research to stay ahead of trends and introduce new tenants that keep the marketplace relevant and engaging.

2. Community Engagement & Event Management (The Kedai & The Nesting Place)

  • Organize and host events such as pop-ups, seasonal promotions, workshops, and antenatal classes in partnership with local brands, artists, and educators.
  • Work with influencers, baby brands, and event organizers to enhance the community's experience at both venues.
  • Create meaningful and engaging experiences for visitors of all ages, from children to adults, encouraging repeat visits.

3. Sales Management (The Nesting Place)

  • Generate leads for The Nesting Place through online and offline channels such as social media, SEO, partnerships, and referrals.
  • Conduct viewings of the confinement centre, highlight key selling points, and close sales by addressing prospective clients' needs.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets by promoting the unique services of The Nesting Place.

4. Marketing and Promotions (The Kedai & The Nesting Place)

  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns for both The Kedai and The Nesting Place to drive foot traffic and client interest.
  • Work with the marketing team to promote upcoming events, tenant businesses, and services through social media and other platforms.
  • Secure sponsorship and brand partnerships, especially from baby brands, to enhance the client experience at The Nesting Place.

5. Operations & Customer Service (The Kedai)

  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations at The Kedai, including tenant move-ins and outs, facility maintenance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Handle tenant inquiries, complaints, and ensure timely rent and utility payments.
  • Work closely with tenants and management to address issues and maintain a positive, collaborative environment.

6. Leadership & Team Management (The Kedai & The Nesting Place)

  • Provide leadership and motivation to the team, ensuring they align with the vision of both The Kedai and The Nesting Place.
  • Set clear performance goals, monitor progress, and provide support to team members.
  • Serve as a key liaison between tenants, upper management, and clients, ensuring a seamless flow of communication.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in retail management, sales, or community engagement roles.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to organize events and work closely with vendors, influencers, and industry partners.
  • Leadership experience and a track record of driving sales and client satisfaction.
  • Passion for small businesses, creative spaces, and fostering community spirit.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • A postgraduate degree or professional certification in Marketing, Event Management, or Retail Management would be an advantage.
  • Relevant experience in community management, retail operations, or sales may be considered in lieu of formal education.
