Position Summary
- Drives the organization’s merchandising strategies and plans through leading the Sleep & Panties category management, product assortments, and budget forecasting.
- Ensures ownership of category performance and aligns strategies with business needs to create growth opportunities for the Business.
- Leads the transition from channel-focused to category-focused to develop category experts.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Direct merchandising and product strategies for Sleep & Panties in line with business goals.
- Lead and manage category ownership, ensuring clear accountability for product performance and forecasting.
- Implement category expertise and streamline processes across Sleep & Panties, moving away from channel-specific focus.
- Drive effective use of Open-To-Buy (OTB) in Sleep & Panties, optimizing sales, inventory management, and margins.
- Manage product life cycle from SKU maintenance, through promotion, to phase-out.
- Work closely with the Business Analytics team to ensure category performance is continuously evaluated and optimized.
Position Specifications:
- Minimum a Diploma/ Degree in any discipline of study.
- Minimum 8 year’s merchandising in luxury goods or a comparable retail environment
- Keen analytical mind, strong on planning, detail, and accuracy, and be a demonstrably creative thinker
- Display initiative to remove obstacles
- Negotiation and vendor management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point software
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Fluent English, both in written and spoken. Knowledge of other language(s) is an added advantage.
