Information Technology (IT) Engineer

• Location: Uniformwork Technology Sdn. Bhd., Kawasan Perindustrian Bukit Minyak, 14100 Simpang Ampat, Penang
• Full-time

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (8:30am - 5:30pm)
Saturday (8:30am - 12:30pm)

Job Summary:

The IT Technician/Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure, providing technical support to staff, and ensuring the efficient operation of hardware and software systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support and a keen understanding of technology's role in the construction industry.

Job Responsibilities:

• Database Automation: Write SQL scripts to create stored procedures that automate and improve the efficiency of various tasks related to database management.
• Scripting and Scheduling: Develop SQL, VBA, Visual C++, PowerShell, DOS, Python scripts for scheduled tasks besides for formwork CAD programming, enhancing operational efficiency and task automation. Implement best practices for automation and job scheduling to improve overall database system efficiency.
• Technical Support: Provide troubleshooting assistance for hardware, software, and network issues. Respond to help desk requests and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
• System Maintenance:Perform regular updates and backups of the software used in house to ensure system integrity.
• Installation and Configuration: Set up and configure new hardware and software. Assist in the deployment of new technologies as needed.
• Network Management: Assist in the management of local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs). Ensure network security and performance optimization.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to understand their IT needs and assist/ provide tailored solutions that improve operational efficiency.
• Project Participation: Support IT software implementations, and technology upgrades.

Job Requirements:

• Candidates must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology/ Computer Science/ Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication)/ Engineering (Electrical/Electronic)/ Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical) or equivalent with 1-2 year(s) working experience.
• Possessing design thinking and skills are an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of computer systems, networks, and software applications.
• Knowledge in C#, C++, Visual Studio .NET and Microsoft SQL Server tools.
• Understanding of networks and databases, and experience with query languages such as SQL.
• Analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Familiarity with construction industry technology is a plus.
• Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin.
• Required skill(s): C, Microsoft Office, Coding Mindset
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
