Buyer/Assistant Buyer

Qualifications & experience

• Proven experience as a Buyer, preferably in the retail or fashion industry
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel as needed for supplier meetings and industry events
• International trade background is a plus

Tasks & responsibilities

• Sales Analysis and Insight Conduct detailed sales analysis to provide insights on product performance and customer preferences. Use sales data to make informed decisions on product assortment, pricing and promotion. Collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies to improve product performance
• Order Processing and Logistics Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up closely to ensure stock arrives on time. Coordinate with suppliers and logistics partners to track shipments and resolve any delays or issues. Ensure accurate and timely documentation for all orders and deliveries.
• Product Selection and Sourcing: Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to make informed buying decisions.
• Vendor Management and Negotiation: Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and conditions. Resolve any issues related to product quality, delivery, or pricing with suppliers.
• Inventory Management Coordinate with the merchandising and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products. Plan and execute product reorders to prevent stockouts and overstock situations. Monitor inventory levels and sales performance to ensure optimal stock levels in all branches.
• Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events to network and discover new products.
