Key Responsibilities

As a Cargo Flow Optimization Operator, you are the linchpin of our APA Hub team, an essential part of the Asia Pacific Operations organization. Your expertise will ensure that our customers' cargo moves seamlessly and efficiently through our Hub ports, navigating complexities and turning challenges into opportunities for success.

  • Navigate Complexity with Strong Ownership Mindset: Oversee the flow of cargo through Maersk's network at the Asia Hub ports of Singapore and Tanjung Pelepas (Malaysia). Anticipate potential disruptions and craft solutions that keep cargo on the move independently, safeguarding our customers' supply chains.
  • Champion Stakeholder Management: Act as the first line of defence when unexpected deviations occur in the cargo or stowage plan. Proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders to align priorities, minimize disruptions, and maintain trust and confidence in our service with self-initiatives.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Regularly review transshipment product performance for your assigned services. Collaborate across functions to identify opportunities for improvement, optimizing both customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Orchestrate Resilience: Prepare Hub ports to absorb shocks from global events. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure readiness, adapt operations on the fly, and transform potential crises into opportunities for strengthening our network.
  • Maximize Revenue Opportunities: Strategically manage vessel utilization to maximize revenue while maintaining service reliability. Your efforts will directly contribute to our bottom line by ensuring vessels are optimally filled without compromising on service quality.
  • Be the Voice of the Customer: Serve as the point of contact for customer concerns related to deviations from the booked product. Your proactive communication and problem-solving will help turn customer concerns into satisfaction, fostering loyalty and trust.

Your work will be closely tied to the vessels' schedules under your purview, granting you autonomy over your working hours. The goal is simple yet impactful: ensure every cargo reaches its destination on time, every time, by promptly addressing any incoming requests.

A well-functioning ocean Hub port is pivotal to offering competitive end-to-end products to our customers. Running an efficient daily operation and advocating for continuous improvements will shape our Hub operations landscape, positioning us for future growth. Your role is vital in making this vision a reality.
