The Sunway Center for Planetary Health (SCPH) at Sunway University is seeking a dynamic and organized coordinator to support our Business Working Group in implementing the Planetary Health Roadmap and Action Plan, specifically in the area of balancing business and planetary health. Responsibilities include facilitating meetings, conducting analytical studies, and providing strategic advisory services to enhance our efforts in promoting planetary health.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Business Working Group lead in preparing background papers, analytical studies, and surveys.
  • Organize and coordinate working group meetings, including scheduling, agenda development, minute taking, and document preparation.
  • Coordinate with working group members to ensure timely document delivery.
  • Provide ad hoc advisory services aligned with the aims and objectives of the planetary health roadmap and wider planetary health agenda.
  • Monitor and analyze emerging issues of interest to the working group, providing regular updates.
  • Support the team at the Institute of Global Strategy and Competitiveness (ISGC) on leadership programmes for private sector companies.
  • Support the Executive Director and Strategic Adviser on development of the communications and behaviour change workstream of the Malaysia National Planetary Health Action Plan, through analysis of available surveys and provision of recommendations on where and how the private sector can support popular behaviour change.
  • Provide advisory services on rollout of the doughnut economics model in Ipoh, focusing on private sector engagement.

REQUIREMENTS/PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Graduates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related fields.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in research, corporate sustainability, ESG analysis, or business consulting.
  • Proven track record on meeting administration and coordination.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to uphold the values, vision, mission, and objectives of the Center.
