Job Description & Requirements Fulltime (5.5 days a week - 47 hours) Working Hours : Weekday 13:30-21:30 / Sat&Sun 9:00-17:00 Annual Leave : 7 days(1st Year) – 14 days (8 years onwards) Waseda Academy Kuala Lumpur is a private tuition centre and provides education to Japanese children of parents who work in Malaysia and other part of the world. The school was founded in 2022. Many of our students have been successful in passing Japanese private and public entrance examinations. we are looking for a new colleague to join our team! Responsibilities Principal As the Principal, you will oversee the operations of the school. This includes designing and managing various course offerings, delegating teaching and administrative tasks to subordinate lecturers and staff, and developing and overseeing the business plan. Additionally, you will also be responsible for teaching. Currently, we conduct both in-person group classes and online sessions, so the role involves delivering in-person lessons as well as providing school guidance and study support to online students. All lessons are taught in Japanese. Therefore, a business level of Japanese (equivalent to JLPT Level 1) is a mandatory requirement. Candidates will be subject to a Japanese conversation interview. You will be responsible for several subjects. Knowledge of teaching at least two of the following is required: Japanese, English, Maths, Science and Social Studies. In addition, essay writing, interviewing and parent counselling will be offered in Japanese. The level of each subject must be at the level of the most difficult entrance examinations for junior high school, high school, or university in Japan. During the recruitment process, candidates will be assessed on these entrance exams as a written test. There are two main types of work: regular classes and seasonal classes. Regular classes are held during the after-school hours, so classes start after 17:00 in the evening. During the school holidays, classes may be held in the morning. The basic shift is 5.5 days each week, with 5 weekdays plus one Saturday or Sunday every other week, but this changes during the school year. Our students range from 6 to 18 years old, so we need to teach them in an age-appropriate way. In the classroom, you will be expected to have the personal charm to delight, motivate and inspire your students.
