Job Description

  • Support and maintain the Laboratory Quality Management System, in compliance to MS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and SGS NR Group Quality System.
  • To support the laboratory management in absence of posted Laboratory Manager or Team Lead and ensure the daily delivery of contractual laboratory services.
  • Provide advice and assist clients on technical inquiries and scope of testing
  • Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 as well as NR Group Quality Systems in assigned laboratories
  • Conduct inter-departmental quality audits to ensure compliance of laboratory to QA/QC procedures as per MS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements.
  • Perform method validations/verifications and ensuring the implementation of correct laboratory testing with compliance to MS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 & NR Group QA/QC requirements.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting technical-related problems in the laboratory and coach lab technicians, sample preparation and junior staff
  • To ensure timeliness, precision, and accuracy of analytical results to meet turnaround time.
  • Ensure that information from the clients is kept as strictly confidential and never revealed to the third party.
  • Ensure all analytical equipment, apparatus etc are to be appropriately monitored, maintained and calibrated as per required schedule.
  • Ensure root-cause of all non-conformities from internal/external/round robin and customer complaints are to be investigated and identified with appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • To train, supervise and ensure technical competency of Chemists / Laboratory Junior Staff with assigned test methods and procedures.
  • To ensure all the standard methods and quality documents are up to date.
  • To ensure all controlled quality procedures, test methods and document are kept confidentially and restricted within SGS premise.
  • Ensure Good Housekeeping and Good Laboratory practice in the laboratory.
  • Adherence to SGS Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy and requirements by upholding a good safety behavior and exercising necessary standard and process when carrying out responsibilities at all times
  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by your reporting manager and/or Senior Management

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field from recognized university.
  • Has experience in internal audit or relevant analytical laboratory testing activities

Additional Information
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in relevant analytical laboratory
  • Knowledge in MS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements
