The Specialist in Master Data Management (MDM) is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of an organization's master data across various systems. This role involves the development, implementation, and maintenance of data management processes, policies, and technologies to support data quality and consistency throughout the enterprise. The Specialist will work closely with data stewards, business units, and IT teams to manage and optimize the organization's master data assets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Master Data Governance:

  • Develop and implement MDM policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of master data.
  • Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, including data stewardship roles and responsibilities.
  • Monitor and enforce data quality standards and best practices.

2. Data Integration and Management:

  • Oversee the integration of master data across various systems and platforms, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to implement data integration solutions and data migration strategies.
  • Manage and resolve data integration issues and discrepancies.

3. Data Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and maintain data quality monitoring and validation processes to identify and resolve data issues.
  • Conduct data quality assessments and audits, and develop action plans to address data quality gaps.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to data quality and master data management effectiveness.

4. Data Strategy and Planning:

  • Assist in the development of data management strategies and roadmaps aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for data management improvements and optimizations.
  • Support the creation of data management policies and procedures.

5. User Training and Support:

  • Develop and deliver training programs for end-users and data stewards on MDM processes and tools.
  • Provide support and guidance to users regarding master data management and data quality issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to MDM processes, procedures, and best practices.

6. Data Analytics and Reporting:

  • Analyze master data to provide insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Develop and deliver reports on data quality, data governance, and MDM performance.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP, MDM certification) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in master data management, data governance, or a related role.
  • Experience with MDM tools and technologies (e.g., Informatica MDM, IBM InfoSphere MDM, SAP Master Data Governance) is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance, and data quality best practices.
  • Proficiency in data integration, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Proficiency in data management tools, databases, and reporting software.

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM13,000.00 per month

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
