We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Hospitality and Tourism Educator to join our Academic Department within the Faculty of Business. The ideal candidate will contribute to teaching and curriculum development in our Hospitality and Tourism program, focusing on both higher education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Key Responsibilities: Teaching (Up to 40% Load): - Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and workshops in Diploma or Bachelor of Business Administration programs. - Engage students in active learning and foster a supportive educational environment. - Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to facilitate learning. Curriculum Development (Up to 40% Load): - Collaborate with faculty and industry stakeholders to develop Hospitality and Tourism curriculum as a major within Bachelor of Business Administration. - Assist program application preparation of TVET Hospitality and Tourism courses. - Develop curriculum for TVET Hospitality and Tourism courses. - Design course materials and resources that align with industry standards and educational best practices. - Ensure the curriculum meets the needs of both higher education and TVET learners. Research and Further Study (Up to 20% Load from 1/1/25): - Continue your PhD studies with adding RU Co-Supervisor if RU can provide area of expertise. - Publish 3 research papers under RU Scopus listed journal by end of PhD. Administrative Duties: - Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the strategic direction of the Academic Department. - Engage in professional development activities to stay current with industry trends and educational methodologies. Commitment: - Maintain a total workload of 80% until the end of December, which allows for a commitment of 2x0.5 days per week at RAS. - Transition to a Full-Time role, focusing on teaching and curriculum development within the Faculty of Business and TVET Centre. Qualifications: - Master’s degree in hospitality, Tourism, Education, or a related field (PhD preferred). - Proven experience in teaching at the higher education level and/or in TVET settings. - Strong background in curriculum development and instructional design. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
