Job Summary:
The Lecturer Otolaryngologist will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, providing clinical care in the field of Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat), and contributing to research and scholarly activities. The individual will also mentor students and residents, ensuring the highest standards of clinical education, patient care, and academic excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching and Academic Responsibilities:
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions related to Otolaryngology for medical students and residents.
- Prepare teaching materials, curricula, and syllabi for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- Supervise and assess students' academic performance, including examinations, clinical competencies, and research projects.
- Participate in curriculum development and review for the Otolaryngology program.
- Mentor and provide academic guidance to students and junior medical staff.
- Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and continuing medical education (CME) programs in Otolaryngology.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist clinical care in Otolaryngology, diagnosing and treating patients with ear, nose, and throat disorders.
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors and residents in clinical settings, including outpatient clinics, surgeries, and ward rounds.
- Perform specialized surgeries and procedures in the field of Otolaryngology, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of patient safety and care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings for patient case discussions.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in Otolaryngology and incorporate best practices into clinical teaching.
Research and Scholarly Activities:
- Engage in research activities in Otolaryngology, contributing to publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Develop and lead research projects in collaboration with faculty, residents, and students.
- Apply for research grants and funding to support academic and clinical research.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences.
- Encourage students and residents to participate in research, guiding them in developing research skills.
Administrative Duties:
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the planning and development of departmental activities.
- Serve on university or hospital committees related to medical education, clinical governance, or research.
- Assist in the recruitment, selection, and mentoring of new faculty members or medical staff.
- Ensure compliance with university and hospital policies, including health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) with specialization in Otolaryngology (ENT).
- Fellowship in Otolaryngology or a similar credential from a recognized medical board.
- At least 3-5 years of clinical and teaching experience in Otolaryngology.
- Proven record of research and publications in the field of Otolaryngology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an academic and clinical environment.

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
