THE ROLE

The Account Director is responsible for contributing to the achievement of business plan objectives by the effective management of the provision of quality communication strategies to clients & managing the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain regular contact with clients; build good relationship with Clients

Lead effective meetings or conversations.

Thorough knowledge of client’s business, competitors, and market insights

Development of all major and new campaign briefs

Recommend appropriate research as required

Brief respective teams on campaigns (e.g., creative, strategy planning, Content Strategy content strategy, etc.) to brainstorm on ideas and ensure all deliverables are met

Prepare strategies for selling creative work to clients, ensuring creative is on strategy and within budget

Work conforms with corporate brand identity guidelines and media specifications

Creative work confirms with advertising codes and legal and ethical standards

Preparation and monitoring of annual financial plan—work closely with Business Director to prepare, understand & drive revenue

Approval/sign-off of relevant financial-related documentation (JCRs, production estimates, etc)

Provide clients with accurate monthly budgets and actual reconciliations for media and production

Preparation of accurate monthly client billing forecasts

Record and maintain detailed manhours on all tasks

Work trafficked in an effective manner to ensure all projects deliverables are met

Assist the business director to manage and run team operations; adhere to established processes and procedures to ensure team members have a clear understanding of job requirements

Team meetings held on a regular basis to manage or stir projects in the correct direction or iron out issues to ensure project runs as seamless as possible

Mentoring & grooming of junior team members

REQUIREMENTS

Must be a Malaysian with a good understanding of mass Malaysian thinking/culture (understanding of Malay markets)

Must be passionate on the Brand, from its product to its value

Able to add business value to the brand beyond just marketing (e.g. sales, operations, food, insights suggestions, etc.)

Excellent communication skills on writing and presentation—clear communication to clients, internal & external team

Significant previous agency experience—proven track record

Knowledge of all integrated advertising processes and procedures

Thorough understanding of integrated marketing (above and beyond creative and planning concepts)

Knowledge of strategic intent and experience in evaluating creative work against it (market insights)

Financial Management Skills

Team Player & Leadership: able to work closely with the internal team (e.g., creative, strategy planning, social media, etc) and lead the team to ensure all Client’s objective are met

Flexibility: clear understanding and knowing when to pick the right battles

Client Focus: has the patience to deal with clients & has the ability to assure them on the right path to walk on

Initiative & Resilient: proactive, organised and be able to handle multiple jobs at the same time. Entrepreneurship: strong business acumen & solutions-driven
