JOB PURPOSE & OVERVIEW :

Develop and implement effective investment strategies, optimise the HRD Corporation's portfolio through risk management techniques, and oversee treasury operations. This role ensures financial stability and maximises returns by analysing market trends, managing liquidity, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Market Research & Investment Trend

  • Analyse market trends and economic indicators by conducting detailed research and evaluations to develop investment strategies that align with the HRD Corporation’s financial goals, ensuring adaptability to changing market conditions.
  • Implement investment plans by allocating assets based on risk tolerance and market conditions to maximise returns and ensure long-term financial stability for the organisation.

2. Portfolio Optimisation & Risk Management

  • Provide advanced financial modeling and in-depth analysis to assess portfolio
  • performance, ensuring the optimisation of asset allocation and identifying opportunities for enhanced returns.
  • Mitigate potential risks by diversifying investments and adjusting asset allocation based on ongoing risk assessments, reducing exposure to market volatility and safeguarding the HRD Corporation's assets.

3. Cash Management & Liquidity

  • Monitor cash management and liquidity by tracking daily cash flow and managing short-term funding strategies to ensure that the HRD Corporation meets its financial obligations and maintains liquidity.
  • Manage banking relationships by negotiating terms and optimising banking services to minimise costs and improve operational efficiency, resulting in more favorable financial outcomes for the organisation.

4. Investment & Treasury Insights

  • Develop investment and treasury insights to the management and the board through regular reports and presentations, ensuring transparency and alignment with HRD Corporation's objectives.

5. Continuous Improvement & Compliance

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement by evaluating current treasury operations and introducing automation tools to increase efficiency and accuracy, reducing operational risks and improving overall performance.
  • Monitoring changes in financial regulations and conducting periodic internal audits, ensuring that the organisation adheres to relevant laws and industry standards while mitigating compliance risks.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field required.
  • Professional qualification as a Chartered Certified Accountant e.g. MIA, ACCA, CIMA, MICPA and ICAEW would be an added advantage.
  • Certification in Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), and/or Certified
  • Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) would be an added advantage.
