The Paralegal performs administrative and paralegal tasks in connection with the Sports Legal Services, Disciplinary & Integrity Unit (the Unit) activities.
Organizational Relationships
- The Paralegal reports to the Head of Unit and Director of Legal Affairs.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Paralegal's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Handling day-to-day administrative and operational matters, including dealing with incoming/outgoing calls and correspondence.
- Monitoring deadlines and follow-ups.
- Drafting and reviewing correspondence/legal documents to ensure that they are in the proper format in accordance with the agreed templates.
- Organizing and managing documents, correspondence, and records.
- Maintaining an organized filing system for smooth data retrieval.
- Organizing/coordinating meetings of the AFC judicial bodies and committees and preparing correspondence/agendas/minutes in connection with such meetings.
- Checking the eligibility of players for AFC Competitions.
- Conducting legal research.
- Carrying out additional tasks as required by the Head of Unit and/or Legal Director.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a paralegal (or in a similar role) in an international organization and/or law firm.
- Sports Law experience is an asset, particularly in disciplinary matters.
- Minimum Degree holder in relevant fields; Legal and/or Secretarial qualification(s) are an asset.
- Excellent command of English, both oral and written, is required.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and related software.
- Possess a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.
- Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
