Business Analyst

Main Job Purpose

Analysis and Solution Definition

· Defines and documents customer business functions and processes.

· Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.

· Consults with functional unit management and personnel to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access.

· Acts as a liaison between business users and technical team in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of applications to ensure optimal operational performance.

· Analyzes the feasibility of, and develops requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system design fits the needs of the users.

· Collaborate with project managers, developers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance.

· Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system driver changes; assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes.

Technical Documentation

· Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver standard artifacts or templates as needed

o Business/Functional Requirements Document,

o Business Impact Analysis, User Stories

o Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs, User Guides and Walkthrough Documents

· Provide system documentation on assigned software/applications.

Project Execution

· Assist in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.

· Assist in the development of project definitions, cost/benefit and risk analysis, work plans, progress reports, and presentations

· Mentor developers for project development task and issues;

· Prepare policies and procedures / incident reports / change request / work-in-progress reports to keep management, users and the team informed of projects issues;

· Facilitate User Acceptance Testing;

· Problems/Issues Analysis and Isolation;

· Training of End Users and creation of end user documentation;

· Monitoring and documentation of all changes

Qualifications: Educational or Experiential Requirements for the Job

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as business analyst

• Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

• Strong problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making skills

• Demonstrated communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to create detailed, well-written documentation for a variety of audiences.

• Ability to effectively achieve results in highly ambiguous and changing environments

• Ability to work well in cross-functional team environments, build and maintain excellent relationships with cross-functional teams.

• Strong understanding of all phases of the application development lifecycle

• Previous experience working with customer facing websites, preferably for an e-Commerce company

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: Up to RM12,000.00 per month
