Your ‘day to day’

The Manager PMO is a critical enabler of the horizontal project-based organization. The role actively contributes to the definition of the holistic PMO strategy and acts as consultant in Project Management & PBO/CCO principles for all levels of the organization. Moreover, the Manager PMO is responsible to develop, deploy and facilitate procedures which enable effective project delivery and governance incl. a holistic Way of Working Capability Building Program bringing forward excellence in project execution as well as consumer centricity.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Make Significant Contribution to Holistic PMO Strategy Definition:
  • Drive forward the implementation and integration of the project management office in the light of the transformation towards PBO & CCO while focusing on end-user centricity to make the PMO the respected partner and an inherent part of PMM.
  • Ensure full flexibility & strategic agility to constantly adjust, improve and strengthen the PMM PMO strategy based on the needs of the organization.
  • Embed The Project Governance Model:
  • Embed and coordinate the local governance, ensuring its effectiveness and the timely follow up on decisions taken.
  • Act as a bridge between involved stakeholders (incl. HoF) on the governance process to ensure full alignment, proper approvals, and prioritization.
  • Ensure project plans are created and constantly updated, deliverables are tracked with related time, resource, and cost impacts.
  • Develop solid and smooth reporting practices to ensure alignment with the management team, project owners and other stakeholders.
  • Enable decision making and prioritization by identifying and highlighting interdependencies, synergies and possible risks, opportunities, and bottlenecks within strategic project portfolio.
  • Establish smart and effective mechanics to assess projects towards their strategic relevance to enable proper prioritization and strategic decision taking.
  • Ensure that measurements and reporting of projects achievements (KPIs) are done after project closing, including all challenges/learnings, to enable optimal decision making for future projects selection and delivery.
  • Act as a Consultant in Project Management And PBO/CCO Principles:
  • Be the consultant, ambassador, and go-to-person on Project Management for all levels of the organization; ensure that a structured, process- and planning-oriented approach is adopted.
  • Develop and constantly optimize a blueprint/standard set of obligatory project documents/templates to ensure process efficiency.
  • Consult on the set-up of project briefs, charters, and definition of milestones, setting “SMART” objectives, identifying opportunities and risks and identifying financial & business KPIs in collaboration with Finance.
  • Act as point of contact for enabling functions, facilitate roundtable discussions with enabling functions to share strategic insights on projects to enable better planning.
  • The complexity of all strategic decisions must be well understood and taken into account to ensure proper consultation.
  • Embed And Drive Local PBO/CCO Capability Building Framework:
  • Develop and deploy a holistic Way of Working Capability Building Program bringing forward excellence in project execution as well as consumer centricity with a strong focus on end-user centricity (customized, continuously optimized trainings approach)
  • Advise project & test teams on methods and team development to increase their effectiveness.
  • Act as ambassador, change agent & consultant within the entire organization.
  • Ensure close cross-functional collaboration and strategic alignment with the key stakeholders.
  • Build and Manage Positive Relationships:
  • Build trustworthy relationships with management team, projects owners, sponsors, team, regional and global teams.
  • Drive & Ensure Knowledge Management, Best Practice Sharing & Cocreation Locally And Internationally
  • Drive and facilitate the process of capturing and sharing learnings, best practices and results within PMM.
  • Co-Create, optimize, and establish PBO & CCO programs in close collaboration with PMI stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor/master’s degree, preferably in Marketing or Economics /MBA or on Project Management
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in PMO related roles
  • Track record on advanced project management skills or certifications and experience in leading /leading streams of cross-functional projects.
  • Excellent (acting with various stakeholders from different levels within the organization, incl. HOF - locally and internationally)
  • Strong strategic, analytical thinking & prioritization skills
  • Excellent communication & negotiation capabilities and ability to speak-up especially towards senior management (incl. HOF)
  • Being able to handle a lot of different stakeholders & needs while working in interfaces & cross-functionally.
  • Agile
  • Business Partnering & Business Perspective with strong end-user focus.
  • Strong exposure to commercial projects preferred.
