Accounts Admin Officer Internship

Responsibilities:

  • Process payments to suppliers and vendors in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
  • Prepare payments to suppliers and other vendors in a timely manner and monitor accounts payable.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments and accounting staff to ensure accuracy in financial operations.
  • Handle staff claims, petty cash claims, and verify petrol fuel card usage against statements, making payments on time to ensure smooth usage of the petrol card.
  • Manage the renewal of company registrations for CIDB, insurance, road tax, and ‘Puspakom’ inspections of all company vehicles.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of records, documents, and filing to support all accounting entries.
  • Monitor the daily attendance of staff and technicians, submitting reports to the HR manager in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with any other ad hoc duties assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements:

  • At least SPM; a diploma in accounting, or a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is required.
  • Familiarity with SQL accounting software is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Required spoken and written languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin (as required to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients or vendors due to the nature of the work).
  • Well-organized, with a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good problem-solving skills, proactive, and a great team player.
