Job Responsibilities:

1. Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
  • Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs.

2. Tender Management:

  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Analyzing and evaluating tenders from contractors and suppliers.

3. Cost Control and Monitoring:

  • Monitoring project costs to ensure they stay within budget.
  • Identifying and analyzing potential financial risks and providing mitigation strategies.
  • Tracking changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly.

4. Contract Management:

  • Administering contracts and ensuring all parties meet their contractual obligations.
  • Resolving disputes related to contracts and work progress.

5. Valuation and Payment:

  • Conducting valuations for interim payments and final accounts.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate payments to contractors and suppliers.

6. Procurement Advice:

  • Advising on procurement strategies and selecting the most suitable procurement method for the project.

7. Cost Reporting and Financial Management:

  • Preparing regular cost reports to keep clients informed about project financial status.
  • Providing financial insights and advice to project managers.

8. Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensuring all construction activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintaining comprehensive project documentation and records.

9. Project Coordination:

  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Providing support in project planning and scheduling.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or equivalent
  • Candidate to possess minimum 2 years’ experience in related field, preferably in the construction industry
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools for quantity surveying
  • Ability to work with AutoCAD software to validate quantities from the given drawing
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, legal regulations and standards
  • Proficiency in general contracting, construction contract administration and contract law
  • Proficiency in cost estimation and cost management practice
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple projects at once
  • Strong in analytical, problem-solving skills and negotiation skills
  • Attention to details and accuracy in cost management
  • Ability to communicate in English, Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin
