We are seeking a results-driven Senior Financial Specialist based in Malaysia, with extensive experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting/Reporting:

  • Assist on month-end financial statements preparation for management reporting purposes,
  • Assist with regular reviews and reconciliations of major Balance Sheet and Profit or Loss accounts
  • Assist and support coordination with the accounting service providers, including:
  • Ensuring delivery of all documents on time for bookkeeping and tax provisions
  • Coordinating internally with other Finance department teams to gather required information and provide necessary information, updates and reports
  • Follow up the accounting closing events and timeline
  • Support management accounting and reporting automation and appropriate workflow changes
  • Support FC on activities with other Departments as marketing, legal, etc

Audit:

  • Assist the audit process by analyzing and providing information, reports and documents to Auditors on a timely manner
  • Being involved with discussing and resolving material audit issues raised by the external auditors
  • Assist FC on meeting deadlines (internal and statutory) for audit process

External and internal communication & coordination:

  • Support FC with tax and regulatory issues when needed and interact with counterparties for receipt of the necessary documents (signed contracts, invoices etc)
  • Assist FC with ensuring that all financial (including tax) reports are prepared in compliance with legal and group requirements and are submitted to relevant internal teams and/or authorities within deadlines
  • Work within the general framework of the company's overall accounting and reporting system
  • Collect and maintain information regarding service providers (leases, rentals, advertising, insurance, outsourcing, etc).
  • Assist FC in training outsourcers and other key users on the group's ERP system

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
  • ACCA/US CPA/ICAEW/CA qualification preferred
  • Public accounting experience (Big 4) a huge plus
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Technically sound with IFRS and US GAAP frameworks
  • Experience with Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines tax laws and other regulations
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP System will be advantageous
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, organization and critical thinking skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to form conclusions and present findings
  • Ability to work independently and take on challenges in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
