Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Manufacturing Engineer at TT Electronics in Pahang, Malaysia. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing processes, implementing manufacturing engineering techniques, optimizing industrial engineering practices, and applying mechanical engineering principles. Additionally, the role will involve working on machining projects to enhance production efficiency.

• Develop, configure and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification.

• Provide process documentation and operating instructions – Control Plan (CP), PFMEA, Operations Instruction Card (OIC), etc.

• Determine the machines, equipment, tools, jigs and fixtures required for products manufacturing.

• Plan for balanced processes implementation on the production floor.

• Design and request for fabrication of jigs, fixtures and gauges for new model’s mass production and also those require updates.

• Initiate the start-up (buy-off) of new model’s mass production.

• Develop LEAN Manufacturing best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.

• Continuously improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards to meet KPI targets (Sales, OTD, Productivity, Yield, RMA, Scraps, etc).

• Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiency, yields, costs and changeovers.

• Troubleshoot process related problems and recommend solutions. All findings and solutions are to be properly documented.

• Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data.

• Prepare samples for study, collect, record, transcribe data and show results in reports.

• Perform process simulations.

• Advise corrective actions.

• Work with equipment designers (Automation Team) to develop cost-effective automated or mechanized equipment.

• Research and purchase new manufacturing technology through CEA.

• Perform new equipment validation and commissioning for mass production.

• Manage cost and time constraints.

• Assist Quality Department on products risk assessments.

• Ensure projects are completed on time.

• Support to build sample products when needed

Qualifications

• BSc Degree in a discipline related to Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing / Production or Electronics / Electrical Engineering.

• Minimum 5 years of proven working experience in process engineering in the manufacturing environment (Priority in PCBA).

• Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and experience in Process Design and Development Verification.

• Experience in Product and Process Validation.

• Knowledge in Six Sigma Methodology with minimum Yellow Belt level.

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodology and experience in Lean or Kaizen implementation.

• Excellent technical skills.

• Knowledge of process related standards.

• Experience in process simulations.

• Working knowledge of process engineering software packages, MS Office applications skills, CAD or AutoCAD skills.

• Familiarity with health and safety regulations.

• Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills.

• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English languages both written and spoken.

• Experience of working in a global multinational company.

• Knowledge in electronic components especially inductor & transformer manufacturing.
