Lab Manager
About the Role
We are currently in a proactive search for a committed Lab Manager, who demonstrates the all aspects of the execution of assigned projects, including developing detailed work plans, schedule, project estimates, resource plans, budgets, and status reports. Oversee the timely and flawless completion of high profile cross functional projects.

What You'll Do:
- To handle product development, cost saving, raw material evaluation, product application, trouble shooting and re-work activities
- Supporting new product design and process development for product scale up as necessary
- To collect data and identify all critical process control points and statistical methods to be employed.
- To provide technical support for the sales team and lead product trials.
- Perform laboratory testing in a precise and reliable manner.
- To design testing methods.
- To provide product training and briefings to internal and external customers.
- To maintain a safe working environment by following lab safety protocols and ensuring the safe operation of all equipment and in chemical handling.
- To generate technical data sheet (TDS) and safety data sheet (SDS)
- Communicate effectively within the work team through written documentation and verbal summaries.
- Share ancillary duties such as equipment maintenance and calibration, ordering raw materials and lab supplies.
- To interface with institution (private and government) for product testing and certification.
- To conduct simple preparation as needed.
- To assist HOD in all administrative matters.
- To provide guidelines and advise to subordinates on procedures, quality assurance, equipment usage, and all other matters related to the work.
- To be responsible overseeing all activities within a team, training team members, setting strategy and monitoring progress towards goals.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the management with full accountability and responsibility from time to time.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, polymer science, applied science, or any other related field
- Minimum Five (5) years of proven R&D experience in chemical industry environment.
- Good command of English, and Malay. Able to speak fluently, write clearly, and to communicate effectively
- Language proficiency in Mandarin is added advantage.
- Possess knowledge of operating analytical instrument (FTIR, GC, Particles Size Analyzer) and interprets analysis data
- Able to define experimental plan and design experiments to optimize/ develop product
- Able to generates and implement ideas to improve/ optimize experimental routes.
Bonus:
- Possess working experience/ exposure in design and development activity, quality assurance activities.
