Onsite Logistics Specialist-Senior

Job Responsibilities:

• Route cargo in accordance withlegal and customer requirements
• Coordinate the routing process including:

1. using contract rates and least cost whenever possible
2. obtaining spot quotes for lanes or loads that aren’tcontracted
3. selecting carrier and tendering cargo in accordance withthe process
4. providingcarrier, shipper, broker, consignee all pertinent docs and information as required

• Issue resolution and shipment responsibility
• Training of new employees and clients,if needed
• Research and subject matter expertisein the field of logisticsand transportation
• Actively use either Allyn’s ALA software or use the software chosen per the client
• Accurately issue shipping documentation such as certificates of origin, customs invoices, packing lists, and certificates of insurance
• Reliably track and expediteprogress of specialized shipments
• Capture all costs associated with a shipment including:

1. freight cost
2. detention charges
3. storage charges if applicable
4. accessorials
5. surcharges
6. demurrage
7. other charges

• Actively look for ancapture savings opportunities and added value opportunities when possible
• Actively participatein team meetings, conference calls, and daily project management calls with Allyn team and with the client
• Department of Transportation (“DOT”)and other transport regulations compliance management, including permitting, over dimensional, and Hazmat
• Eliminate or minimize risk exposure for Allyn and customers
• Maintain online tracking and metrics tools
• Track and resolve freight claims
• Provide excellent customer service to Allyn customers

• Bachelor’s or equivalent college degree – focus inLogistics preferred
• International logisticsexperience preferred: transportation, customs, warehousing, supply chain principles, geographical concerns, political nuances of economic zones
• Scheduling and critical path management experience preferred
