Job Overview

This role is responsible to support the function lead to design, develop and execute Trade Marketing Strategies and Annual Commercial and Channel Plans to achieve defined business objectives for assigned channels. You are expected to lead in the deployment of assigned channel plans working in close collaboration with market planning, activation and franchise teams, channel and field sales teams, striving towards execution excellence in trade and achievement of market objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish channel strategies along with associated execution plans to support long term channel growth and profitability and increase market share, NSR, OI Margin for assigned channels.
  • Accountable for defining Action Plans that deliver Channel Category growth based on shopper (Consumer) and customer (Retailer) requirements, working with the Business Unit (BU) to be in line with overall market strategies. Responsible for identifying priorities within Channel and work with Sales Managers (Region/Key Account) to recommend tailored/customized Category Channel plans in line with overall market strategies.
  • Monitor the channel and brand performance against business plan/Nielsen performance and develop alternative strategies when needed.
  • Monitor competitor activities and develop alternative solutions in a timely manner.
  • Responsible to launch new products and achieve agreed launch metrics (SOVI & distribution reach) in respective channel.
  • Responsible for working with Regions/Key Account teams to define and develop appropriate channel and key customer execution KPI targets. Support the construction of key commercial propositions for specified category at the Channel level.
  • Responsible for developing and proposing the in-store Picture of Success/Execution Standards for the channels in each category based on a clear understanding on shopper (Consumer) behavior. Support its implementation and continuously review the effectiveness of our in-store activations.
  • Accountable for contributing channel inputs into the Integrated Commercial Planning process by identifying the key opportunities (incorporating shopper behavior in that channel, channel specific Promotional learning, Competitor analysis and Best practice inputs) and develop a Commercial Activity Calendar for the Channel.
  • Responsible for the formulation of initiatives; plan, organize and implement consumer and trade promotions as well as marketing activities such as sampling and on-ground store activations.
  • Analyze and incorporate market data like Nielsen and Kantar in their channel strategies.
  • Set Performance KPIs & Performance expectations for Trade Marketing team under his/her care with the objectives of achieving set objectives of the year. Manage the performance of team members under his/her care.
  • Drive, guide, coach, engage, reward and develop team towards increased productivity, professional growth and Career Path Development of Trade Marketing team.

Skills & Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in Business Development, Key Account, General Trade and Sales experience within FMCG industries.
  • Good understanding of local FMCG trade environment, shoppers and consumers.
  • Strong customer collaboration skills. Team player and able to work with different level of people.
  • Ability to strategically analyze needs, opportunities and risks of the business.
  • Ability to develop, implement strategies and plans.
  • Independently manage consumer and trade promotions and activities development, planning, organizing, execution, and evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work cooperatively with different functions and departments.
  • Good project management skills with meticulous follow-up skills.
  • Aggressive and demonstrate skills in achieving sales, profitability and budget goals.
  • Proactive with a can-do attitude. Goal-driven and results-oriented.
