About Our Client

A Specialty Chemicals Manufacturer with multiple production facilities strategically located across Southeast Asia, including plants in Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. The company specializes in producing high-performance chemicals used in various industries, including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and energy.

Job Description

  • Strategic HR Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with overall business goals, focusing on workforce planning, development, and retention initiatives.
  • Policy and Process Development: Lead, coordinate, and implement HR policies, processes, and training programs, ensuring they support the organization's compliance and strategic needs, including Safety and Security management.
  • HR Program Management: Administer HR programs such as Compensation & Benefits, Disciplinary Issues, Employee Relations, Performance & Talent Management, Health & Safety, and Training & Development, with a strong focus on compliance with relevant standards and certifications (e.g., ISO 45001, RBA, SMETA, BSCI, SA8000).
  • Foreign Worker Recruitment: Manage the recruitment and onboarding of foreign workers, ensuring compliance with local laws and international standards. Work closely with relevant agencies and departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Social Compliance and CSR Certifications: Oversee the company's efforts in achieving and maintaining social compliance certifications (RBA, SMETA, BSCI, or equivalent), and ensure that the company adheres to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
  • Safety, Security, and General Affairs: Ensure that safety, security, and general affairs are effectively managed across the organization, creating policies that align with local laws and international standards. Provide oversight on general administration functions as well.
  • Legal Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations, ensuring that all HR policies are up-to-date and legally sound.
  • Budget Management: Develop, manage, and implement the departmental budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to meet HR and operational objectives.
  • Leadership and Employee Development: Lead the HR team, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities. Ensure HR staff have access to relevant training and certifications.


The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • At least 15 years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role, ideally within a medium-to-large manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence senior management.
  • Fluent in English and Malay, with Mandarin as an added advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with social compliance and CSR certifications (e.g., RBA, SMETA, BSCI, ISO 45001, SA8000).
  • Experience in foreign worker recruitment and related legal requirements.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and data analysis.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and budget management skills.
