Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of global sourcing strategies and global supplier network capabilities for assigned Commodities (Machining plastics) to achieve key business goals: Time to Market, Quality, optimized Cost of Goods , optimized Lead Time and Supplier Business Continuity in ramp-up and ramp-down situations
  • Develop and communicate Commodity strategies across the organization, the Business Units and NPI Operations to ensure sourcing decisions and product development aligns with strategic supplier selections
  • Formulate negotiation strategy to proactively drive cost reduction with suppliers in a complex, high mix/ low volume environment that will meet strategic, operational and financial performance targets
  • Total commodity ownership, including supplier relationship management in alignment with the needs of the business, the global supply strategy and specific commodity strategies. Inclusive of actively approaching the supplier market by means of investigating, screening, pre-selection of and negotiation with new or alternative suppliers for a product group/line of business
  • Support Senior Manager Commodity on the negotiations of complex agreements with suppliers encompassing key program specifications and functional objectives
  • Responsible for total supplier performance: measure and manage vs. key targets, compliance to agreements and implementing improvement roadmaps to address gaps
  • Recommend Make-versus-Buy strategy on long-term basis for selected commodities or assemblies
  • Work effectively with internal stakeholders cross-functionally and cross-regionally, as well as those of external partnerships who are critical to meeting key objectives
  • Maintain and provide current understanding on industry and technology trends for the assigned Commodities
  • Acting as escalation interface between suppliers and business regarding tactical issues, pricing, quality while maintaining continuity of supply by taking ownership of tactical issues, facilitating work through others, and driving the team to closure
  • Routinely performs supply risk assessments, and drives mitigation plans accordingly, including setting up and working alternative supplier options for respective Commodity


Requirements

  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Excels in Communicating, Customer Focus, Initiative and Results Drive
  • Experience in manufacturing, and/or operational background
  • Experience working in a global organization
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement global Commodity sourcing strategies
  • Expert in negotiation and building strong relationships internally and externally
  • Experienced in more broadly based throughout the supply chain and has managed in different regions.
  • Adept at influencing decisions and developing solutions to complex technical situations
  • Good conflict resolution skills
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and critically think in a high mix/ low volume environment
  • Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Office tools, in particular Excel for data analysis


The ideal candidate will meet these education and work experience requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or similar field
  • Minimum 10 Years of work-related experience in Procurement and/or Commodity management, with demonstrated increase of responsibilities in semiconductor manufacturing or similar high technology manufacturing environment
