Assistant Legal Counsel

Principal Roles and Responsibilities

To take charge of the Legal function in Schenker Malaysia, and in this capacity, be responsible for the following areas:

• Provide advice on general corporate, regulatory, administrative, legal and risk management matters to Malaysia management and personnel.
• Provide advice on all contracts, especially customer and supplier contracts, to Malaysia management and personnel.
• Where necessary, engage and manage external counsel for general legal, regulatory and/or administrative matters and court proceedings in Malaysia.
• Conduct legal training and workshops for Malaysia personnel.

Relevant Qualification and Work Experience

• A good university degree in law and admission to a professional bar, preferably in Malaysia.
• At least 2 to 3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), in private practice and/or as in-house counsel, handling maritime/litigation or corporate/commercial matters.
• Experience in the transportation/logistics industry will be an advantage though not essential.

Compensation Package

• Competitive and commensurate with experience

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM8,750.00 - RM11,250.00 per month
