Responsibilities

Make an impact The incumbent will lead the project team and manage activities throughout all phases of the project including contract negotiation, design/engineering, production control, delivery, installation, commissioning, integration and acceptance tests of Automated Material Handling System. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the projects assigned to him/her are performed correctly in terms of customer satisfaction, technical targets, time schedule, financial objectives, completeness of scopes and quality objectives and in accordance with Swisslog’s guidelines. He will ensure adherence to all the relevant instructions and standards of SLOG (PHB) and will at all times act to improve the project benefit He/she will act as an integrator in respect of subcontractors and the customer. Leadership

  • Establish, manage and motivate mixed (Swisslog and client),cross-functional realization project team.
  • Leverage team member’s skills / experience to enhance the project team’s results.
  • Influence and convince customers, team members subcontractors and managers.
  • Lead/drive change process at client.

Analytical Thinking

  • Identify and increase project benefit and prevent project or commercial risks by appropriate risk management.
  • Selection of potential subcontractors for the project in cooperation with other company functions (Purchasing, System Engineering, Automation Engineering etc.)

Technical / Commercial Knowledge & Planning

  • Plan, execute and control project activities and deliverables to ensure the project meeting the budget, time schedule, quality and technical performance target.
  • Elaborate contracts with subcontractors, minimizing risks for SLOG.
  • Keep updated lists of outstanding items, correspondence with the relevant interfaces (customer, subcontractors, co-suppliers).
  • Undertakes status review meetings among project team members and clients, and submit project status reports to management.
  • Prepare, manage and keep updated the official project time schedule (in MS Project) with reference to SLOG supplies and the relevant customer milestones.

Team Work & Integrity

  • Give support to Sales department in the contract definition phase and in future relationship for extensions and/or new business.
  • Ensure the issue of the project documentation according to the SLOG quality standards.
  • Ensure subcontractors supply on the required level of quality (CE, validation, etc.)

Result Orientation

  • Lead responsibility that all the project specifications (layout, functional, acceptance test specs. etc.) are timely issued and detailed enough to avoid technical and contractual risks for SLOG.
  • Make progress payment claim and manage cash flow.
  • Assume a constant attention and motivation in claim management towards the subcontractors.
  • Motivate change orders / claims towards the customer.
  • Set up and manage effective project cost controlling and milestone based payment.
  • Keep updated project forecast PKU, cash flow and status report.

Customer Focus

  • Maintain strong and healthy relationship with the customers and suppliers.
  • Present Swisslog and take responsibility towards the customer.
  • On-site consultation / assistance at customer meetings, with the support of the site manager (if any) and/or by the IM whenever needed.

Application Requirements

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma holder in Mechanical/ Electrical/Controls Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of work experience, preferably in the heavy industries, with at least 3 years in a similar capacity.
  • Strong leadership, planning skills, analytical skills and decision making skills.
  • Matured, self-driven, proactive, flexible and results oriented.
  • A team player with strong customer focus.
  • Strong awareness towards the significance of time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Very good communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
  • Familiar with project management tools, e.g. MS Project, Primevera
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and spoken mandarin.
  • Willing to travel overseas on short notice.
