Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as a Release Deployment Manager located in Kuala Lumpur City. The role involves overseeing day-to-day release deployment tasks, managing programs and projects, providing training to teams, and utilizing strong analytical and communication skills to ensure successful deployments.

Max Salary :

  • Expats with EP Processing : RM 15,500 per month;
  • Local (Highly Preferred) : RM 14,000 per month;

Competencies and Skills Required:

Possess a recognized college Degree in Information Technology, Business, Management or related field.

Candidates with PMP or PRINCE2 certification will have an added advantage.

Relevant Work Experience in;

• 2 years in banking / financial services industry.

• 3 years in managing and delivering large regional project ( > RM10 Mil ).

• 3 years in infrastructure support or service.

• 5 years in working with more than 30 stakeholders in multiple projects concurrently.

• 5 years in software development life cycle and processes.

• 7 years in IT Project Management.

Key Responsibilities:

PROJECT INITIATION

• Develop project charter. Confirm project objective and high level scope.

• Identify key stakeholders to form a project team. Setup project steering committee and working committee.

• Assist with technical solution and business case.

• Develop SOW and review contract. Participate in contract / commercial / pricing negotiation.

• Initiate purchase requisition.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

• Determine the project approach, milestones and schedule. Develop detailed project work plan

• Define the project iterations strategy. Manage and evaluate iterations.

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Management Plan, including the configuration management, risk management, issue management, and communication plans.

• Work with vendor and system analysts to collect business, functional and non-functional detailed requirements.

• Review all requirements to validate they are aligned to the project objectives and SOW.

• Ensure that all requirements, project plans, and changes to commitment are communicated to all affected stakeholders.

• Develop and/or review estimates and estimating assumptions for the project’s schedule, effort, and cost using established estimating models, best practices, and past experience. The resulting estimates account for all activities in the project scope, including project management and application development tasks, software quality assurance reviews, and vendor and contract management activities.

• Define the roles and responsibilities of project team members and BAU supporting teams. Recruit project team members if necessary.

• Ensure that project resources receive necessary training and apply effectively to tasks.

• Provide timely feedback to project resources on their deliverable quality.

• Conduct project kick off and regular project meetings to align project team to the long term, milestone and weekly goals.

• Prepare meeting agenda in advance and document thorough meeting minutes within the same day of meeting.

• Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations.

• Manage relationships with all vendors and sub-contractors. Ensure that the project team follows all quality assurance processes, including periodic reviews and transitions.

• Ensure all project gate documents, e.g. BRD, FSD, SIT, UAT, Closure, etc, are signed off by the corresponding stakeholders.

CONTROL

• Track all orders coming into the Project Office, monitor progress and co-ordinate delivery dates.

• Monitor deliverable progress of vendors and sub contractors, and adherence to the SOW and contract.

• Measure project progress at clearly defined points in the SDLC to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and that it meets or exceeds expectations. Balance scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks. Make adjustments as necessary.

• Maintain financial controls and systems for recording, monitoring, forecasting and budgeting of all project expenditure.

• Review, collate, maintain and highlight changes to project plans. Continue to update and improve project methodologies.

• Track and update registry of constraints, dependencies, assumptions, risks and issues. Assess the impact on project and take action.

• Produce weekly performance report and monthly status report to update key stakeholders.

• Maintain existing departmental and Project Office policies and procedures.

• Support Program Manager or Director with day to day running of project admin tasks

DESIGN

• Manage design and solutioning tasks.

• Review and monitor deliverables of Design Specification.

BUILD

• Define development / build cycles and deliverables.

• Manage development / build tasks and schedule .

• Track closely the procurement, delivery and setup of new infrastructure and configuration of existing environment, e.g. data center, network, backup.

• Review and be responsible for the overall application development and system integration.

TEST

• Define and document testing strategy. Identify and source the required tools and resources.

• Manage test plans, scenario and scripts and overall testing progress.

DEPLOY

• Define and document deployment strategy.

• Manage deployment planning and execution.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT & TRAINING

• Support CMT Team on the process and training

SUPPORT (POST PRODUCTION)

• Plan and setup post live support and ensure it is operational.

• Organise and facilitate closure of project.

• Complete benefit analysis at the end of the project and present the findings to management.

Job Specifications:

Technical/Functional skills

• The following hands-on experience will have an added advantage:

o Managing a regional project with a system deployed in one country and used by users from multiple countries.

o Experience in database migration & upgrade preferably involving Oracle databases 12C to 19

o Fluent in various Oracle database versions

o Familiarity in Oracle E-Business Suite especially Payroll
