We are seeking an ambitious and proactive Assistant Business Development Manager to drive the growth of our plastic circularity B2B platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and expanding our network of sellers and buyers within the B2B plastic industry ecosystem.

Duties and responsibilities

Strategic Partnership Development:

  • Identify, prospect, and establish strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the B2B industry, including manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, and service providers.
  • Collaborate with potential partners to develop mutually beneficial agreements and drive revenue growth for the platform.
  • Negotiate partnership terms and agreements, ensuring alignment with company objectives and standards.

New Business Acquisition:

  • Develop and implement targeted strategies to acquire new sellers and buyers for the platform.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential leads and market segments.
  • Engage in outbound sales activities, including cold calling, email outreach, and networking events, to generate new business opportunities.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing sellers and buyers, serving as their primary point of contact and advocate within the company.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to partners, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and product, to ensure alignment and customer satisfaction.

Market Expansion:

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for market expansion, both domestically and internationally.
  • Develop market entry strategies and execute plans to penetrate new geographies and industry verticals.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to inform business development strategies.

Sales and Marketing Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor the sales and marketing team, providing guidance, support, and coaching to achieve sales targets and marketing objectives.
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to drive customer acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sales and marketing initiatives with overall company goals and objectives.

Requirements and expectations for the position include, but are not limited to -

  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal, negotiation, coaching, and influencing skills with all levels of employees and leaders, particularly overseeing the internal and external business and non-business communication.
  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to focus and think conceptually and strategically while delivering a creative, speedy, and results-driven approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
  • Able to take charge of developing new market.

Qualification & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or partnership management roles within the B2B sector, preferably in a marketplace or e-commerce environment.
  • Strong understanding of the B2B marketplace landscape, including key players, industry trends, and customer needs.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Possess own transport.
