Middleweight Visual & Interaction Designer

At Stampede, we’re looking for a Visual & Interaction Designer to play a pivotal role in shaping our digital products.

The Visual and Interaction Designer at Stampede is a hybrid role that blends the creative and strategic elements of both visual design and interaction design, ensuring that the digital products we create are not only visually appealing but also intuitive, functional, and user-centered. This role plays a critical part in defining how users interact with our products, while also shaping the overall visual direction and maintaining consistency through the development of comprehensive design systems.

What You’ll Do:

• Visual Design: Take charge of our product’s visual direction, crafting engaging UI components and maintaining a clear visual hierarchy that aligns with brand identity.
• Interaction Design: Design seamless user interactions and flows, prototyping and testing to ensure usability and satisfaction across devices.
• Design Style Guide and Pattern Library Development: Develop and manage a comprehensive design style guide and pattern library, collaborating with developers to implement design specifications effectively.
• Strategic Role in Design Systems: Lead the evolution of our design system, ensuring scalability and consistency as our products develop, while collaborating cross-functionally to align with broader product goals.
• Inclusive Design: Create accessible, inclusive experiences for users of all abilities, embedding these principles at every design stage.

Key Requirements:

• Relevant academic qualifications in Graphic Design, Multimedia and relevant fields
• Strong case study and portfolio showing concept exploration, brand alignment and creative execution with human-centred focus.
• Expertise in interaction design principles, focusing on user flows and interaction patterns that enhance usability and user engagement.
• Strong capabilities in visual design, including typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy, with attention to detail in crafting visually cohesive interfaces.
• Experience with design systems: Developing and maintaining style guides and pattern libraries, ensuring consistency across products.
• Prototyping and wireframing skills using tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
• Collaboration with developers to ensure smooth implementation of design components within the codebase.
• Responsive design expertise to ensure designs work seamlessly across devices and platforms.
• Inclusive design skills, ensuring designs are accessible and usable for diverse user needs.
