We are looking for a senior baker that can manage the production of our bread and pastry product retaining quality and consistency. In this role, you are responsible in leading a team of bakers & pastry chefs in creating and nurturing our bakers in developing their careers. You will also be a key figure in building and creating a kitchen of unique products swell as building your team of bakers of the future.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Able to oversee all baking operations, including bread (sourdough), pastries, tarts, cakes, and other desserts, production of sandwiches for respective outlets.
- Able to train/manage bakers/chefs on proper baking techniques, safety procedures, and company policies
- Able to have a good communication with kitchen lead /management team
- Able to lead and motivate a team of chefs/bakers
- Ensure that all baked goods are prepared according to recipes and specifications and that they meet or exceed quality standards
- Able to provide costing of recipes and maintain operational cost
- Able to create new products for different seasons
- Able to monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Responsible for ordering ingredients and products for products.
- Responsible for ensuring all equipment/kitchen is at a high standard of cleanliness and maintenance.
- Able to adhere to food safety guidelines and regulations
- Perform opening and closing duties as needed
- Has great attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Qualifications
- Culinary arts diploma from an accredited institution
- Experience as a baker and pastry chef for 2-4 years
- Experience and understanding of baking techniques and procedures
- Experience working in a high-volume kitchen
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation regulations
