Legal Counsel - Manager

The ideal candidate will be responsible for in-house legal matters including drafting agreements, addressing compliance issues, and participating in negotiation discussions. In order to succeed, this candidate should feel comfortable working with in-house and outside counsels on a variety of legal matters.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate supplier and client contracts for Foundever entities in Malaysia and China
• Handle corporate secretarial work, corporate housekeeping, and corporate restructuring.
• Conduct legal research and provide opinion or advice on legal issues and risks, such as, pertaining to data privacy, labor and employment, and other laws affecting the business or operations of the company.
• Assist internal stakeholders in preparing and filing of legal documents required for applications with government entities, for permits and licenses, and government reportorial requirements.
• Keep full knowledge of the local legal requirements in Malaysia and China regarding applicable regulatory or business ethics laws or regulations.
• Assistance to local leadership with advice and counsel regarding compliance related activities and supporting recommendations.
• Creation, implementation and annual review of local compliance policies and procedures; Development of local compliance procedures consistent with Foundever global policies, procedures, and other documents or rules in alignment with the risk mitigation action plan.

Qualifications

• Law degree holder and a bar passer/Licensed Legal Practitioner
• With 4yrs experience as Legal counsel in multinational company or a role with compliance related responsibilities.
• Preferably a Licensed Corporate Secretary
