Responsible for the efficient material flow throughout the value stream to ensure products are delivered on time, on budget and meet quality requirements.
Job Description
- Accountable to ensure that the material master and the Bill of Materials are correctly created and maintained in SAP to enable proper planning and execution of procured materials.
- Create and/or approve of the master data and its changes in eMM.
- Perform periodic reviews of the master data in SAP to ensure alignment with revised strategies as deemed acceptable by the local Materials Planning Manager
- Engage Global Sourcing and Procurement, Master scheduling and/or Engineering to obtain information related to master data.
- Work in conjunction with the appropriate members of the Global Sourcing and Procurement (GSP) Organization to define all planning and procurement related parameters for externally procured or subcontracted items, such as lead times, lot sizes, planning and stocking policies as well as making sure that these are accurately maintained in the ERP system.
- Ensure approval of all order / stocking policies will follow the criteria set forth by the current / applicable Delegation of Authority (DOA).
- Responsible for releasing the purchase requisitions to the buyer, when required, so they can execute the purchases.
- Responsible for monitoring exception messages and work with buyers to mitigate any exceptions identified by MRP against the plan for the externally procured or subcontracted items under their responsibility.
- Extract MRP reports to enable an overall view about the progress of the purchased parts under the Material Planner's responsibility
- Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Business Administration, Supply Chain or related areas preferred
- 8 years’ experience in planning related area and/or at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Primavera (P6) / SAP / MRP is required
- Negotiation, planning, interpersonal and communication skills.
