Materials Planner

Job Description
About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Materials Planner to join us at our Greenfield manufacturing facility in Johor Bahur, Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, with a focus on ensuring efficient material flow to support production schedules and meet customer demands.

In this critical role at Brooks, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring seamless material flow, optimizing inventory, and supporting our production goals. If you're a proactive problem-solver with a passion for supply chain excellence, we want to hear from you!

Work Location: Onsite – Johor Bahru.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage material planning processes to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and production teams to align material supply with production schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels and adjust planning strategies to minimize excess stock and prevent shortages.
  • Analyze material usage trends and forecast future requirements to support production goals.
  • Resolve material-related issues, including delays and quality concerns, to maintain production continuity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain processes and drive continuous improvement
  • Establish strong working relationship with overseas contract manufacturers to prioritize orders and manage expedite requests.
  • Provide customer support for Spares, including driving On Time Delivery (OTD)
  • Manage and commitment follow-up/escalations on delivery on spares.
  • Responsible for shipment coordination when necessary to support spares
  • Manage and document improvements that focus on making internal and external processes more efficient
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Degree / Diploma in Operations, Materials, Business or equivalent with 6-8 years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and inventory management practices.
  • Familiarity with planning, costing and materials.
  • Computer literate with experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Ability to operate in a cross-functional team to meet customer expectations and to work well under pressure
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Detail oriented with good organizational skills; fluent in English (spoken & written)
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP preferred.
