Job Summary:

The warehouse executive is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a warehouse facility. He/She will manage a team of warehouse staff and ensure that all activities are carried out efficiently and effectively. The primary role of a warehouse executive is to coordinate and supervise the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods, as well as monitor inventory levels to ensure accuracy and timely fulfillment of orders. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and organised working environment, enforcing warehouse policies and procedures, and implementing measures to improve productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods.
  • Manage and assign tasks to warehouse staff, ensuring workloads are distributed evenly and deadlines are met.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock checks to ensure inventory levels are sufficient. Planning for safety stock levels, managing stock replenishment, forecasting demand, ensuring materials are available when needed.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to minimize accidents and injuries.
  • Train and mentor warehouse employees on proper warehouse practices, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and storage methods to maximize space utilization and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as purchasing, production, and logistics to coordinate inventory management and order fulfillment.
  • Evaluate warehouse performance metrics and implement strategies to improve productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise within the warehouse operations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements relevant to warehouse operations.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or distribution center.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics processes.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other software used in inventory control.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team and collaborate with other departments.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address operational challenges and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Physical stamina to perform warehouse tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and inventory management.
