Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inventory counts: This involves manually counting all merchandise on hand at regular intervals, comparing physical counts to system records, and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Analyse inventory data: Use inventory management software and reports to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize stock levels. This may involve tasks like ABC analysis, cycle counting, and safety stock calculations.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies: Research and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records, identifying the root cause of losses and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures: Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for tasks like receiving, storing, and issuing merchandise. This may include training staff on proper inventory handling techniques.
  • Audit internal controls: Regularly assess the effectiveness of internal controls related to inventory, identifying areas for improvement and mitigating risks of loss.
  • Collaborate with other departments: Work closely with purchasing, receiving, merchandising, and loss prevention teams to ensure accurate and efficient inventory management across the organization.
  • Maintain accurate records: Document all inventory activities, audits, and findings in a clear and concise manner.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, accounting, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail inventory control or auditing and minimum 3 years of team leading experience is required.
  • Attention to detail - Strong attention to detail and notice the damage of products and other inventory problem that may affect the audit results.
